Objectives:
Evaluate the effectiveness of chair yoga program on stress and other mental
health outcomes for older adults with dementia/MCI and caregivers.
Methods:
Mixed-methods design
• Assess mental health outcomes (stress, loneliness, depression, anxiety, fear
of covid-19, caregiver burden) pre- and post-program using questionnaires
• Semi-structured interviews after 8-weeks
To be eligible: Older adults must be 60 years or older with mild cognitive impairments or mild-moderate dementia. Caregivers must be 18 years or older and caring for someone with dementia or cognitive impairments. They must have access to the internet, be able to sit comfortably for 60 minutes, and have sufficient vision and hearing.
